Status Update
Well, if anybody is still interested, I’m starting to feel like writing again. It’s been a slow climb out of this dark little hole I found myself in, but I’m starting to get restless to make stuff again — a good sign, I hope — and something I haven’t felt in months.
I’m still not ready to give a date — and I’m not even going to promise that WR75 will be the first thing I post. To be honest, reading it now, all of chapter 7 feels awkward and stilted — perhaps not surprising, considering where I was, at the time. Anyway, it may take me a while to figure out how to pick it up again. So don’t be surprised if you see a short or two first.
For any of you still waiting, thanks for your patience.
Chris.
Thanks for the update and nice that you’re feeling better. I’m looking forward to whatever you’re going to post. Good luck figuring everything out.
I’ll keep checking. =)
Still here.
Also still here. Take your time, we’ll be around
Good to hear things are looking up a bit.
Still there, too. Mostly lurking, as always.
As Vercin said, take your time.
glad to hear that you’re feeling better.
*lurk
hugs It’s OK to let go now and then. Whatever you do, don’t feel bad about not being ‘reliable enough’ or any other rot.
I’m glad to hear things are looking up
Despite my understanding some of the situation, I do miss your work turning up in my feed reader. I likes it
Good to hear you’re feeling better. I’m waiting with baited breath for whatever you write next, as your style draws the reader in and really captivates.
A good read and looking forward to more as you feel up to it. Thanks Richard
Still here, too, and patiently so. Take your time. All is well.
Take care, Chris. Very familiar with those black holes. Just know that there are a lot of people wondering what happens to Tiergan next.
Nice read, quite a bit different from other werewolf stuff. A nice insight into the feelings of a young man not being the First. Nice insight about the lone wolf too.
If you don’t feel comfortable about this, try writing some small stuff about unrelated things.
Just a little hint: if you continue this, don’t rewrite . . . it is what it is. It’s just a story, allthough it’s a nice one
.
Hi AL13N,
Always nice to hear from a new reader — and it gives me a chance to update my regular readers.
I’m working on a new series of (unrelated) stories, the first of which I will probably post before WR75. However, Chapter 8 of WR is high on my list, and I hope to get it started this weekend, and posted within the next few weeks.
And yes, no rewriting. That’s my mantra with this one.
Thanks for commenting!
Chris.
Thought I’d add another colour to those ’still here’ voices. Haven’t been checking much, but now that I know you’re up to writing again, I’ll poke more often. (No, I don’t use rss, yes, I know it’s easier and I’m stubborn, hush you
)
Maybe i should start to use RSS as well. although it’d be much easier if I could convince WebFictionGuide to use it, so that we can have another category on our shelves: “updated”.
Well don’t you just have the nicest, most sensitive readers on the planet . . . You’ve left me hanging . . . Hankering for your every word . . . Think of me as the proverbial ‘tic’ in your proverbial ‘tail’ . . .
Umm..Wait is today a . . . Monday?
*re-lurk
I love the story and really hope you can get back into it soon as I’m really looking forward to reading more.
Hope all is well with you and yours.
why go home,
- Jon
sigh . . .
I hope things are well with you. I’m still checking in once in awhile, hoping for an update.
Take your time with the writing. Sometimes it takes quite awhile for ideas to start coming back. Once you get the figurative engine started, it should come a lil more easily.
The good news is I am writing again. The bad news is that I’m really out of practice, and the writing is still like pulling teeth. However, I’m committed to it, and I’ll keep working at it. Sooner or later, there will be an update.
Fantastic!
I’m sure we’re all looking forward to updates.
Great News (with Capital G)!
If you want someone to give you pointers or to tell you you’re actually writing good stuff, I’m all eyes! Or, you could send it to a collegue writer (I see Miranda wrote a comment here . . . ), why not try it?
Good luck with the writing.
If you want to try your hand at writing again, you can easily start something else, something new. like a short story of something.
Thanks to everybody who commented on this post. I really appreciate your support — it has helped me get going again.
As I write this comment, I’ve got half of WR75 written. I was going to try to write all of Chapter 8 this weekend, but, realistically, a buffer is a bad idea. It’s the deadline that gets me to write, and I need to do it regularly to keep my head in the right place. So, I’ll be posting WR75 as soon as it’s done. After that, I’ll be trying for the Monday updates. We’ll see how I do.
Thanks again — everyone — for your patience.
Chris.
